My favorite war movies are "We Were Soldiers", the true story of what happened to the 7th Cav at Ia Drang in Viet Nam, and Black Hawk Dawn, about our ill fated attempt in Somalia under Clinton... I also love many more.. War movies are my favorites. The series The Pacific that was on HBO recently was VERY good.... Maybe I like it because my dad fought in the Pacific in WWII. I also loved In Harms Way with John Wayne, The Bridge on the River Kwai, King Rat, oh... too many to list

You picked a winner here, Jamie. I've seen it (twice), and I was blown away to think they were making movies like this so soon after World War II. Thanks for focusing attention on a movie that richly deserves it!
