Military families don't often have the luxury of deciding when they're going to move. They get their orders, and must pack up and leave, often being forced to sell their home in the process. This makes them much more vulnerable to the fluctuations in the housing market, according to Holly Petraeus.
Petraeus heads up Servicemember Affairs for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She's also been a military wife for 37 years, as the spouse of retired Army general and current CIA Director David Petraeus.
The yearlong experiment to determine whether women can serve in ground combat is wrapping up.
