Memorial Day with be the kick-off of Tim McGraw's military home giveaway, called HomeFront. The country music star is giving away a mortgage-free house to a service member on each of his 25 tour stops, according to his website.
On Memorial Day, McGraw will perform for the troops at a Fleet Week concert in New York City's Beacon Theatre. If you don't have tickets, don't worry - you can still watch the show on YouTube or The Pentagon Channel, where it's being streamed live.
During that concert, McGraw will announce the winner of the first mortgage-free home. McGraw said on his website it's his way of showing appreciation to the military:
“My sister’s a veteran of the first Gulf War. My uncle was a Vietnam veteran and my grandfather was a World War II veteran. I've always felt a deep sense of respect and obligation to our troops. Being able to reward them for their dedicated work with a new home will be even more rewarding for us. It feels so good to give back to them, and to have the opportunity to entertain them on Memorial Day is something I'm honored to do."
McGraw will continue to give away a home to a Wounded Warrior or active service member in each city his Brothers of the Sun Tour. To see if he's stopping in a city near you, click here.
